As the Program Director, I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a group home for intellectually disabled adults served by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This includes managing the facility, ordering supplies, coordinating inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance.Key responsibilities include-Developing and implementing daily activity schedules and programs to engage and support clients-Facilitating positive interpersonal interactions and communication among clients-Providing guidance, education, and emotional support to clients to help them remain calm and manage behaviors-Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising a team of direct care staff-Ensuring all client documentation, data tracking, and reporting are complete and accurate-Handling crisis situations, utilizing positive behavioral support techniques and least restrictive restraints when necessary-Serving as the on-call manager to respond to after-hours needs and emergencies-Problem-solving and decision-making to address operational and client-related issues-Coordinating with DDS and other external stakeholders
