Dr. Miller is licensed to practice before the United Stated Patent and Trademark Office and by the State of California.Her practice focuses on intellectual property matters related to chemistry, pharmaceuticals, polymers and biotechnology. Dr. Miller’s practice also includes obtaining and advising clients with respect to design patents. She has experience in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, due diligence and freedom-to-operate analysis. She has prosecuted patent applications in over 40 foreign jurisdictions. Dr. Miller received her Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from the University of California of Los Angeles (UCLA). Her research focused on the synthesis and mechanistic studies of palladium (II) complexes as catalysts for forming carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research related to polyaniline membranes, and the synthesis and characterization of polyaspartic acid. Dr. Miller joined the firm in 2005.
