ABOUT KIMBERLY LLEWELLYN
How we design, construct and live in our built environment has a tremendous impact on our global ecosystem. Every new building we bring on line has the potential to be an asset or a liability. When we prioritize short ROI\'s and lowest upfront costs, we create unpredictable costs upon health, operations, maintenance and comfort for occupants, owners and utilities. Not every existing building has the potential to be transformed into an asset but those that can should be. My mission is to support owners and developers to define their project goals for creating healthy, functional, beautiful buildings that last. This includes working with consulting engineers, architects and skilled contractors to evaluate existing structures or proposed designs through those lenses of resiliency, efficiency, health and profitability. My background in Environmental Engineering has been put to use in the construction industry since 2010 working as a mechanical designer and educator on the subject of VRF and healthy, integrated mechanical system design. Field work as a HERS rater and building failure consultant shaped my holistic, field based perspective. Because it’s crucial to balance theory and practice, I keep my boots dirty, hold skilled trades in very high regard and refuse to gloss over inconvenient field realities.
