As an accomplished manager and advocate, I lead AARP Mississippi in achieving its goals of improving the lives of more than members and their families while aligning our work with National AARP Dashboard goals and the AARP Mississippi State Plan. I oversee a diverse team of 4 alongside 150+ volunteers to enhance advocacy, communications, community outreach, and programming initiatives. My extensive relationship-building skills have resulted in successful partnerships with both Republican & Democratic legislators, conservative organizations, and faith-based groups, and media outlets to expand our reach and increase engagement. I also designed and executed innovative strategies to engage rural, conservative, and African American communities, expanded diversity and inclusion programs, and helped relocate the AARP Mississippi State Office to a strategic location among key influencers.
