ABOUT KIMBERLY DAHLMAN

I am a faculty member with demonstrated leadership in education and cancer research, with a focus on integrating foundational science into clinical training, strengthening the professional identity of medical science educators, and advancing program evaluation. Over the past 25 years, my work has centered on both education and biomedical research, including founding and directing a high-impact core laboratory supporting translational and clinical trial science.At Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, I have led major curricular innovations—most notably the Integrated Science Courses and the Immersion Phase—and have been honored with multiple awards for educational excellence. My scholarly approach is reflected in 58+ peer-reviewed publications and ongoing grant support, and I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work through 80+ invited talks around the world.As Assistant Director of Cancer Education at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, I lead education and research programs that train learners across the spectrum—from high school to medical students. I also serve in national leadership roles, including the Association of Biochemistry Educators and the International Association of Medical Science Educators.
