ABOUT KIMBERLY CURRY
As the Community Engagement Manager for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Spokane, I support the IRC\'s mission of providing humanitarian aid and protection to refugees and displaced people worldwide, both globally and locally. As a local non-profit, our office serves refugees through resettlement, employment, housing, mental health and wellness services, immigration, and youth programs. We work alongside our clients from the day of their arrival for up to 5 years as they recover, rebuild, and regain control of their future. Since opening in 2022, our office has resettled over 1500 refugees in Spokane from 29 different countries and served over more through our additional services and programming. In my role as the Community Engagement Manager, I oversee our Development Team, encompassing fundraising, volunteers, interns, co-sponsorship, media and communications, events, advocacy, and partnerships with universities, businesses, churches, and civic groups.
