ABOUT KIMBERLY BUTLAK TYSON

I lead a boutique tax law firm focusing on navigating IRS tax controversies, including examinations, administrative appeals, mediation, and litigation support, as well as advisory work regarding charitable giving. With 25 years of experience in tax law, I have a deep expertise in tax audit representation and litigation work. My career includes significant roles at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where I managed legal teams and contributed to high-stakes litigation involving complex tax matters, as well as was a subject matter expert in penalties and conservation easements. I have been repeatedly recognized for making outstanding contributions, including being named \"Attorney of the Year,\" awarded among IRS field attorneys nationwide. Prior to the IRS, I worked at a large, multinational law firm and also clerked at the U.S. Tax Court. At K Tyson Law, we leverage our significant government knowledge and experience in tax controversy resolution for our clients, as well as in advising donors and their counsel on avoiding pitfalls associated with the tax aspects of charitable giving.
