ABOUT KIMBERLY BRADLEY

I’m a contemporary art critic and cultural commentator with more than 25 years of experience writing, editing, teaching, and moderating across the global art world, occasionally exploring broader visual culture in the areas of architecture and design. My work connects ideas, people, and institutions through reflective writing, public discourse, and academic engagement. I write reviews, essays, profiles, and reportage for a wide range of international outlets, including The New York Times, Frieze, Monocle, ArtReview, Aperture, Artforum, Domus, Hyperallergic, and many more. I’ve been a contributor to Monocle magazine and Monocle24 radio since 2009. I edit artist monographs, exhibition catalogs, and theory books for major art publishers—often leading projects from concept to publication. In the 2010s I worked closely with South as a State of Mind magazine and Texte zur Kunst. In 2020, I coedited Navigating the Planetary, an academic reader on artistic practices across the Global North and South. My academic/teaching work includes a ten-year adjunct professor position at NYU Berlin and three years of teaching art criticism at the Salzburg Summer Academy. I\'m a frequent moderator for art- and design-world events (Art Basel, Dutch Design Week, Gallery Weekend Berlin Talks, La Triennale, Viennacontemporary) and was the 2024 Conversations Curator at Art Basel in Basel and Miami Beach. I also consult for cultural institutions and co-produce podcasts and documentaries on art and culture.
