Giants of Africa (GOA) is a youth empowerment organization that uses basketball, education, and culture to equip young people across Africa with the tools to dream big and lead boldly. Active in 20 countries and more than youth impacted, GOA builds basketball courts, delivers leadership programming, and partners with communities to create lasting change.Founded in 2003 by Masai Ujiri, President and Vice-Chairman of the Toronto Raptors and the first African president of a North American professional sports franchise, GOA was born from a belief in the transformative power of sport. In 2024, we launched our Women’s Empowerment Initiative to invest even more deeply in girls and young women across the continent, fostering opportunity, leadership, and gender equity.From courts to classrooms, and festivals to grassroots partnerships, GOA is building a generation of leaders across Africa.
