ABOUT KIM JELBERT

Associate Director at RSK Biocensus and Founder of Plan for Ecology Ltd (now part of the RSK Group). 20 years’ experience as a Consultant Ecologist. Full Member of the Chartered Institute for Ecology & Environmental Management (CIEEM). BSc Honours Degree (1st) in Animal Science (University of the West of England). MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation (Distinction with Deans Commendation for Academic Excellence). Doctorate in Biological Sciences (University of Exeter) with publications in academic journals. Protected species licence holder: dormouse (CL10a), bats (CL18 Level 2 bat licence; CL21 Bat Low Impact Class Licence; Earned Recognition Class Licence WML-CL47 Annex A&B), barn owl (CL29) and project specific licences for bats (A13) and badger (A24 & LR24).I manage RSK Biocensus\'s Cornwall office. I am responsible for supervising the work of our ecologists and undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, assessments and licensing. I project manage and advise on a range of projects including more complex projects such as those requiring an EIA, and specialise in Habitats Regulations Assessments & Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessment, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments and species licensing. I have led peer-reviewed and published research into the ecology of invasive plant species. I have been described as a professional multi-tasker by my colleagues and I can usually be found perfecting our procedures and reporting, on long walks and adventures with my family or trying to learn something new!
