Lines of business include residential construction and repair, mortgage lending, advocacy, neighborhood revitalization, and retail store management. Responsibilities include resource development, supervision and mentoring of staff, maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure of the affiliate, serving as the primary communication link among directors, committees, and volunteers, networks with stakeholders in region (rural and urban), and ensuring the organization runs smoothly and achieves the mission of the affiliate.• Provide leadership and management for the organizations strategic planning process and implementation.• Design and implement strategies for urban and rural communities based on readiness to increase impact.• Provide facilitation and strategic direction for the regional Housing Coalition of the Northern Shenandoah Valley (80% rural).• Develop, organize, coordinate and oversee the administrative, financial, and construction functions of the organization. Includes operations, budgeting, long-range planning, and human resources. • Develop and strengthen relationships with community-based organizations, foundations, businesses, government and other organizations.• Integrate advocacy across the organization to ensure changes in systems and policies to support affordable/workforce housing in the region.• Successfully moved the organization to integrate U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA) programs (502/504) increase housing construction and repairs.• Direct and coordinate formulation of programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations, including oversight of all fundraising and development.• Participate as active member of the HFHI Rural Caucus, US Council Advocacy Committee, and HFHI/USDA Working Group, and the Nonprofit Alliance of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
