ABOUT KIM CALVERT

Kim has 25 years of experience in membership services, marketing, event planning and media relations. She joined the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber in 2001, starting as a communications specialist, and was promoted several times as she took on more responsibilities and led multiple divisions within the organization. The Regional Chamber is a private, non-profit organization that provides leadership and business services to promote the growth of our nearly members—representing more than employees in the Valley. We offer our membership access to a range of benefits, from discounts on healthcare and workers’ compensation to networking opportunities at more than 100 events annually. Through a robust public policy program and the management of transformational economic development-focused initiatives, the Regional Chamber is working to create a landscape that is favorable for our continued, future and sustained economic growth. Leading a staff of nine, Kim is responsible for the Chamber\'s membership efforts—including with new members and retention of members—and has helped grow membership by hundreds in recent years. She also has oversight of the organization’s internal and external marketing and communications strategies and oversees production of the Chamber’s Valley Business Magazine, Take 5 video broadcast, all printed and electronic material, social media, advertising efforts and website. She manages the Events division, guiding the direction of the organization’s nearly 100 annual events—ranging from community update breakfasts and networking events, to signature events like the Athena Award Dinner and Annual Meeting, and also has oversight of the Mahoning Valley Safety Council, the largest chamber-affiliated safety council in Ohio! Kim also oversees the efforts of the Communications team, whose role is to message and promote the efforts of the Chamber to the media, members and community, helping to grow the organization\'s earned media and fostering positive sentiment about the work we do.
