ABOUT KIM A. THOMPSON
Kim A. Thompson is a retired PwC Principal (i.e, non-CPA partner). Currently she serves on one (very purpose driven) corporate board and four nonprofit boards. In addition, on a pro bono basis, she is currently leading an effort to bring an HBCU satellite campus to Oakland, CA. She is also an education equity lawyer. Prior to retiring from PwC, Kim was a founding fellow in the CEO Action for Racial Equity fellowship, a business-led initiative using data-driven insights and a human centered approach to develop, promote, and scale sustainable public policies and corporate engagement strategies that advance racial equity across the United States. The fellowship is focused full-time on policies pertaining to the four foundational elements of society (1) education (2) healthcare (3) economic empowerment and (4) public safety. Kim’s efforts specifically focused on economic empowerment in Oakland, California where she led a team working on affordable housing and contracting equity issues. Prior to becoming a CEO Action for Racial Equity Fellow, Kim was the Risk Management leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers\' Global Advisory practice, providing quality and risk management advice on a wide range of issues to PwC\'s deals, consulting and forensics businesses. She also led PwC\'s Global Risk Management Consultations Support and Analysis team, providing risk management advice to the PwC Network on emerging risk issues across all of PwC’s lines of service. She also served as PwC’s U.S. firm’s Black Inclusion Network national leader and as Partner Champion for PwC\'s Bay Area and Northwest Market Black Inclusion Network.
