Swim Coach, Private Swim Lesson Instructor & Pilates Instructor-in-TrainingGetting back to my roots as a seasoned swim instructor, coach and long time competitive swimmer. I started swimming for cabana club when I was 9 years old and carried through as an intercollegiate athlete at SJSJ. I really enjoy helping swimmers of all ages and abilities learn to be water safe, more efficient in the water, proper stroke technique and competitive advantages through endurance swimming- Coaching Experience: 2½ years at Campbell Wave Swim Team + 2024 summer season with the Westgate Gators- Instructor Experience: Private, semi-private, adult, youth, advanced, beginner, competitive and water safe, all levels, all ages swim lessons- Personal Swimming Experience: 6 Seasons as Cabana Swimmer (Brentwood Dolphins), Year Round with Terrapin Swim Team (5 years), LUHS (4 year CSS qualifier, Varsity & Team Captain), San Jose State University (4 year 100 & 200 yd Breaststroke record holder & current SJSU Top 20 Record Board member in both events)- Related Certifications: Red Cross certified Lifeguard (15+ years), Cabana Club Stroke & Turn Judge (3 years Belwood Dolphins)- Favorite Swimmer: Pablo Morales (1992 Olympic Gold Medalist & the coach who gave me a chance my freshman year at SJSU)- Favorite Stroke/Event: Breaststroke & IM Growing my roots through pilates - currently mid-progress in completing my pilates instructor certification. My love for pilates started sophomore year at SJSU when my coach, Victor Whales, introduced the team to this amazing dry-land activity - anything to give us a break from 6am pool time was welcomed! Pilates is about mindful muscle engagement and I’ve brought that into my swim training programs, and enjoyed every bit of practice teaching I’ve done through the certification process. A positive mindset and attitude along with high energy make the instructor role a perfect fit.
