Crisis Counseling-Provide Crisis Intervention, Offer short-term supportive counseling and emotional support to newcomers, refugees, and their families during times of crisis- Support newcomer women in transitioning to violence-free lives and regaining stability- Assess clients\' situations, conduct thorough risk assessments, and create tailored safety and transition plans- Work with clients to set achievable goals, develop problem-solving strategies, and resolve conflicts- Complete intake assessments, assume case management duties, and document client interactions- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including case files on abuse reports and service delivery- Offer both individual and group counseling sessions, such as “Women’s Wellness” and HEAL groups, to provide ongoing support for clients at risk- Collaborate with community organizations, network partners, and agencies to meet clients\' needs effectively and enhance relationships with community groups- Actively participate in community-based committees to ensure responsive services.Settlement Services- Provide information, referrals, orientation, and counseling to address the social, cultural, economic, and educational needs of refugees- Assist clients in navigating Canadian services, including health care, housing, education, and legal resources- Guide clients through understanding and adapting to Canadian society, including cultural practices, institutional systems, laws, and general societal norms. Foster seamless integration by coordinating with community and government agencies- Make targeted referrals and ensure access to community services for refugees. Plan and lead educational workshops focused on key settlement issues, helping newcomers gain essential knowledge and skills for adapting to life in Canada.
