About Kien Lam

Writer published across multiple mediums including television, traditional literary publishing, and esports and games journalism. After taking a year to focus on personal writing projects, including finishing a novel, I am currently seeking opportunities to once again collaborate with other creatives to make something bigger than myself. Some highlights of my work include- Author of the poetry collection \"Extinction Theory,\" winner of the 2021 National Poetry Series- Writer and Producer on \"Players,\" a Paramount+ esports mockumentary from Funny or Die and the creators of Netflix\'s \"American Vandal.\"- Over 300 filed articles for League of Legends Esports and ESPN esports, reaching 20m+ viewers across multiple languages- Wrote a novel (literary fiction) that is being shopped to agents and editors as of early 2024- Writing fellowships and support from Indiana University, where I earned my Masters in Fine Arts, and Kundiman, a collective of AAPI writers- Select portfolio available here: https://meanmisterkien.com/portfolio/In addition to writing, I spend a large portion of my time playing video games, where I\'d built a modest following off of reaching Rank 1 in the US as a Team Fight Tactics player. I streamed, served as a color commentator on official broadcasts, and created content to help other players improve. I very strongly believe in voraciously consuming the content I am working on, be it games or writing or any other endeavor I choose to tackle. I believe deeply in the power of storytelling on both an individual level and a collective one, where the parts of a team come together to form a narrative that is impossible to achieve alone.
