Hand-selected by senior leadership to step into the Interim Membership Director role during a time of transition, where I quickly stabilized operations, improved team cohesion, and reestablished a culture of warmth and professionalism across the front desk. The immediate impact on staff morale and member experience was recognized by leadership, leading to my promotion to full-time Membership Engagement Director.In this role, I lead a team of 18+ front-line staff in creating an inclusive, service-driven environment for our members. My responsibilities include managing one of the largest branch budgets ($3M+), overseeing member acquisition and retention, and leading onboarding and tour certification processes. I actively use data and Power BI dashboards to track KPIs, optimize performance, and align departmental strategy.Key accomplishments include launching a membership campaign that surpassed its goal at 122% and increasing our team’s tour conversion rate by over 37%. I’ve helped shift our facility’s culture—ensuring every member feels valued and welcomed the moment they walk through the door. One of the most meaningful parts of my work has been mentoring and empowering my team, including supporting a neurodiverse staff member to grow in confidence and find meaningful ways to contribute to our team’s success.My leadership approach blends emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and a deep belief in the power of human connection to drive community impact.

ABOUT KIANA YERXA
I am a GIS Analyst and Business Intelligence professional with a strong foundation in environmental science and a passion for using data to drive community impact. I have hands-on experience with ArcGIS tools including StoryMaps, Survey123, Collector, Workforce, Web Apps, and Dashboards. My skill set extends to Python scripting, UAV mapping, GIS data management, and cloud infrastructure (AWS). I also bring advanced technical skills in Power BI, Power Apps, and workflow automation, having served as a Business Intelligence Engineer where I built dashboards and digital tools that informed decision-making across departments. Whether it’s creating YMCA Child Care Deserts Maps with ArcGIS Online or analyzing membership trends through Power BI reports, I strive to tell meaningful stories with data.Outside of my technical work, I’m a team builder and coach at heart. I’ve led project teams, manage a Membership department, lead group exercise classes, and coach youth soccer—all driven by my love for people and passion for uplifting others. Growing up in Hawaii, I developed a deep appreciation for nature, especially the ocean, which sparked my lifelong interest in how our actions impact the environment. I love being outdoors and by the water, and I’m currently looking to relocate for career and personal growth opportunities. I’m seeking to combine my skills in environmental science, GIS, and business intelligence to help an organization make data-informed decisions that serve both people and the planet.
