The Island School Semester is a place based and experiential study abroad program for high school students centering sustainability, intentional community, and sense of place.Teaching assistant for Marine Ecology course which explores ecology of water and near shore ecosystems of Cape Eleuthera. Developed curriculum, taught classes, and provided feedback for students. Co-Lead for food security research project done in partnership with the Cape Eleuthera Institute. Focused on improving sustainability and efficiency of the on campus aquaponics system as well as assessing Bahamian attitudes towards aquaculture. Lead outdoor recreation expeditions including a 5 day Down Island Trip including curriculum focused on the culture and history of Eleuthera, as well as developing students camping skills. Advisor for 4 students, communicated with parents and provided emotional, social, and academic support.
