ABOUT KHURRUM AWAN

Khurrum Awan\'s litigation practice is focused on Constitutional and Commercial Litigation, and Administrative law. Khurrum’s practice includes all areas of public law. Khurrum’s experience in this area includes serving as counsel to crown corporations and public school boards in defending and advancing Charter and other constitutional claims, and advising administrative tribunals on procedural fairness requirements imposed by statute and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Khurrum experience also includes advising various crown corporations on requirements imposed by legislation in a broad range of areas, including occupational health and safety, statutory fees and subsidies, privacy and information-sharing, and the appointment and dismissal of directors and employees. Khurrum’s practice also includes all areas of commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, construction litigation, defective product claims and class actions, where Khurrum has served as counsel on some of the leading cases in Saskatchewan. The commercial actions in which Khurrum has acted for clients include class action certification hearings, construction claims, agricultural product claims, land options claims, defective food product claims, and personal injury claims. Khurrum has a variety of litigation experience, including trials, appeals and chambers applications before the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench and the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal Specialties: Constitutional and Commercial Litigation, Administrative Law, Class Actions.
