ABOUT KHONDHAKER AL MOMIN

I am a Traffic Engineer in Training and a Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in transportation systems, traffic operations, and data driven mobility analysis. My work focuses on improving how people move through cities by combining traffic engineering principles with advanced analytics, simulation, and geospatial modeling.I have experience in traffic operations, safety analysis, multimodal planning, and transportation data science. I work with tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, SUMO, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, and Python to evaluate network performance, optimize traffic flow, design safer streets, and support decision making for agencies and engineering firms. My projects include signal timing and operations, traffic impact studies, EV charging infrastructure planning, resilience analysis, and systematic crash diagnostics.I enjoy transforming complex transportation challenges into clear engineering solutions. My work spans NSF funded research, industry oriented traffic analysis, and collaboration with public agencies. I also have more than four years of university level teaching experience and have mentored students in transportation engineering, simulation, and data analysis.My professional activities include serving as Vice President and former President of the ITE University of Oklahoma Student Chapter, participating in ASCE and INFORMS, and contributing as a peer reviewer for leading journals in transportation and resilience.I am passionate about creating safer, more resilient, and equitable transportation systems. I am actively seeking opportunities where I can apply my skills in traffic engineering, modeling, and data analysis to support impactful transportation projects and industry innovation.
