ABOUT KHOKAN DEBNATH

Khokan Debnath, M.Sc. P.Eng. is a professional Geotechnical Engineer with twelve years of experience in geotechnical field investigation including drilling and rock coring, data analysis, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement analysis, geotechnical instrument installation, laboratory and field testing, civil earthwork supervision, construction quality control, ground vibration analysis, and writing technical reports. Mr. Debnath has solid experience in dam safety analysis including seepage, slope stability, and liquefaction potential analysis. He has advanced knowledge in slope stability modelling for dams and embankments for different failure criteria such as full service reservoir level, probable maximum flooding, rapid drawdown, static, and pseudo static condition. Moreover, He is professional in modelling thermal behavior of soil to determine the frost heave and insulation thickness required for preventing damage to shallow buried structures. Mr. Debnath is expert in determining the active zone of ground (Thawing and Freezing) for changes in ground surface temperature. Mr. Debnath is professional in advanced numerical modeling using computer based tools, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W,SIGMA/W, TEMP/W, Settle3D, and PLAXIS. He also has advanced knowledge in analyzing piles using RSPile, L-Pile, and AllPile to determine the axial and lateral capacity and settlement of piles. Mr. Debnath has strong knowledge in analyzing ground vibration to determine the impact on underground utilities and nearby above ground civil structures. He is also expert in designing mitigation options to reduce ground vibration produced from LRT tracks. He is professional in determining soil properties that are used in geotechnical design and numerical modeling. Khokan always creates a correlation between different properties of soil so that they agree to each other.
