ABOUT KHIRA MOORE

Khira is an aspiring publishing professional with an interest in Marketing, Publicity, Sales, and DEI departments. She\'s a senior at Emerson College studying Writing, Literature, and Publishing with a Publishing Concentration. Her work experience spans from customer service operations at Target to interning at Writers House Literary Agency under the tutelage of junior agent Rebecca Eskildsen. She\'s advanced in a variety of skill sets, including Microsoft and Adobe Suites, Advertising, Project Management, Event Coordination, and Digital Production.In addition to professional pursuits, she holds several leadership positions through Emerson College\'s student-run publishing house and literary magazines. She\'s the Head Secretary and Digital Assistant for Undergraduate Students for Publishing (Pub Club), Emerson\'s student-run publishing house. As a Digital Assistant, she manages ebook development and CSS coding utilizing Adobe InDesign. As Head Secretary, she manages club-wide communication through MailChimp and Gmail, promotes events such as the Annual Book Launch, Internship Panels, and workshops, scribes Meeting Minutes for weekly Eboard meetings, and organizes the Annual Book Launch.Khira is an avid reader of Women’s Fiction, Contemporary Lit, Romance, YA, and MG. Her passion for books stemmed from Scholastic Book Fairs and frequent library trips with her father. This culminated in cajoling her parents into driving across state lines to a Costco book signing for the author of the MG series Dork Diaries, Rachel Renee Russell, which began a lifelong passion for books. She hopes to make an impact in the publishing industry by evoking change through innovation, creativity, and passion. She aspires to work in marketing and collaborate with media influencers to celebrate the community and books that changed her life. As a Black woman, she aims to target social media initiatives towards marginalized communities and help their voice flourish.
