ABOUT KHARI J. MILNER
Khari J. Milner, Ed.M. – is Co-Director of the Cambridge Agenda for Children (AFC), Out-of-School Time Initiative, as well as a Cambridge Public Schools Administrator. For more than ten years he has designed, developed, initiated and implemented cross-system collaboratives aimed at supporting the in and out of school time learning and overall needs of Cambridge students. He has led the AFC’s launch of the Cambridge Expanded Learning Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (Cambridge EL STEAM Network) and Middle School Networks. He is also a founding member of the Young People\'s Project, an organization that uses Math Literacy as a tool to develop young learners, teachers, leaders and organizers. He is a native of Cambridge and has worked with young people, educators, policy makers and leaders of all ages for 20-plus years, and his diverse range of experiences throughout the United States, Costa Rica and Tanzania have included positions as youth worker, youth employment program director, math instructor, curriculum developer, professional development facilitator, non-profit organization trustee and strategic planner. Other accomplishments include being a two-time Massachusetts state champion swimmer, an inductee to the Cambridge Athletic Hall of Fame, and earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as a Masters of Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
