About Kaitlyn Hall
Communications can guide our audiences to their destination — or send them down an entirely different path. On a brisk January morning in early 2015, I set off to Estación de Madrid Atocha, the largest commuter railway station in Spain. A series of mishaps, miscommunications, and missed connections later, and I\'d missed the train that would take me south to Granada, where I\'d spend the next six months studying at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas. Years of study hadn\'t prepared me for the reality of communicating under duress, and it took a pocket dictionary, some creative sign language, and algo de espanglish to purchase new tickets and navigate to the train that would take me to my new home. I return to that moment when I think about the power of bilingual, accessible communications for students, families, and communities: they\'ve reached the station, and our communications can stop them in their tracks or act as a conduit to route them to their destination. Along my journey, I\'ve worked across a variety of disciplines to develop academic, journalistic, and promotional materials for clients. Both my education and experience have equipped me with knowledge and skills in bilingual project management, communications strategy, graphic design, research and data analysis, and brand management. As an editor, designer, and translator, I have helped clients across the globe amplify their stories. I thrive on tight deadlines, competing needs, and innovative models for connecting with audiences. I am keenly aware of detail, context and culture, and I leverage my expertise to create accessible, culturally sustaining communications. I strive to be a conduit for connection — anywhere and everywhere — through bilingual communications, design, and digital access.
