ABOUT KHALILA SHABAZZ

I\'m a third-year law student at Brooklyn Law School with a strong interest for intellectual property law and finance law, particularly in litigation, privacy, bankruptcy and technology transactions. My goal is to become a subject matter expert in my chosen practice area and contribute to the legal field as both an advocate and thought leader. My experience includes a Data Privacy Legal Externship at Deutsche Bank, where I research and analyze evolving state privacy laws and emerging AI regulations. Previously, I worked as a Legal Aide at the New York State Attorney General’s Office, investigating police misconduct and drafting legal memoranda on officer investigations. I also served as a Student Attorney at the Housing Justice Clinic, advocating for tenants’ rights in legal proceedings and collaborating with the NYC Council on estate planning initiatives. Before law school, I earned my B.S. in Multiplatform Production from Morgan State University, where I developed strong analytical and communication skills. I bring a creative approach to legal problem-solving and am committed to using my expertise to navigate the complexities of intellectual property law in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
