About Khalegh Mozaffari

I’m a Staff Power Electronics Engineer at Enphase Energy, contributing to the CTO Group’s Systems Innovation team to develop next-generation microinverter and grid-interactive systems. My work centers on designing, building, and controlling high-frequency, high power-density power electronics converters that enable compact, cost-effective, and high-efficiency energy solutions.A core focus of my role is developing simulation and Virtual DVT (Design Verification & Testing) platforms, integrating detailed hardware modeling with control-level co-simulation and automation. I build these tools using a robust, cross-domain toolchain including CMake, Make, Python, MATLAB, NL5, Verilog, ModelSim, and C, enabling full-system testing and validation at both the component and architecture levels. My technical strengths include:Power converter topologies and control: Design, analysis, modeling, and implementation of soft-switched high-frequency inductive and capacitive ac-link, partial-resonant and resonant converters, and conventional converters — combined with advanced control strategies for dc-dc, dc-ac, ac-dc, and ac-ac systems, optimized for efficiency, reliability, and high-performance operationEmbedded systems: real-time control using DSPs, dSPACE, PICs, FPGAs, and SoCsProgramming and modeling: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, HTML, CSS, JavaScriptSimulation and hardware tools:PSIM, LTspice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, PSpice, Proteus, Altium, Simulink, PSCAD/EMTDC, Code Composer Studio, Express PCB, NL5, and ModelSimWorkflow automation: Git, CMake, Make, Linux scripting (WSL)AI & ML expertise: Certified in Deep Learning, Generative AI, AI for Medicine, Machine Learning (Stanford), and Natural Language Processing.Exploring and applying AI with a focus on integrating it into complex engineering systems — from intelligent energy infrastructure and embedded platforms to predictive diagnostics and next-generation automation — with the versatility to extend across diverse high-impact domains.Communication and leadership: 30+ peer-reviewed publications, multiple research and teaching awards, and mentorship experienceI hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, where my dissertation focused on high-frequency inductive ac-link universal power converters. I deliver high-impact innovation at the intersection of hardware, software, and intelligence — grounded in deep expertise in power electronics — with skills that translate across clean energy, advanced automation, smart systems, and a broad range of engineering-driven industries.
