I am leading the SOLSPACE project’s research theme on energy systems and economic modelling. The SOLSPACE project aims to enhance global clean energy services using orbiting solar reflectors. It is supported by a €2.5 million European Research Council Advanced Grant, funding five years of research into new methods for maximizing solar power generation. The project seeks to devise, develop, and demonstrate strategies for increasing the amount of energy produced by future large-scale solar power farms worldwide. My work focuses on analyzing the integration of solar reflectors with regional electricity grids to deliver energy during periods of high prices and demand. I am also building economic models for the development, launch, fabrication, and operation of constellations of solar reflectors. I collaborate closely with other theme leaders to ensure the seamless integration of research outputs into the broader SOLSPACE project, contributing to the achievement of its overarching goals.
