In collaboration with the collaborating or supervising physician, the advanced practice professional may perform the following for patients < 21 years if age: •Perform history and physical examinations and clinical evaluations for pediatric patients including provision of preoperative and postoperative care.•Perform hospital discharges including discharge summaries, thorough medication reconciliation, discharge planning, and clinical handoff to next provider of care• Assists in prompt consultations and critical issues•Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies.•Order, monitor and/or administer medications, including controlled dangerous substances, as per joint protocol or delegation agreement•Performs timely follow-up of pediatric surgery patient post discharge as well as those with chronic medical conditions•Attends surgery and manages acute issues in this patient population both individually or in conjunction with the Pediatric Surgery team. • Performs consults and follow-up visits in the Pediatric Surgery clinic •Perform minor office- based procedures as per scope of practice• Serve on call as required•Bill for professional services as appropriate•Registered Nurse First Assist for pediatric and adult general surgery Additional: •Diversity Chair of the APP Council•Leader of the Provider Engagement Council for the Social Equality Council •Co-chair of the Pediatric Outpatient VIBE Committee
