Hailing from Ankara, Turkiye, I made my foray into the scientific domain with an appointment as a Research Assistant. This pivotal juncture paved the way for deeper academic engagements at Marmara University in Istanbul, where I delved into rigorous Ph.D. research. Subsequently, I had the honor of joining the distinguished research laboratory at Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear, Department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School, led by Dr. Dong Feng Chen. This experience further enriched my academic journey, fostering a collaboration with the esteemed Dr. Ryoji Amamoto.
