ABOUT KEYVAN YAHYA

I am a computational neuroscientist (and an applied mathematician as well) working on a variety of topics including machine learning, reinforcement learning, Categorization, Visual Attention, Information Theory and Bayesian Inference. Coming from a mathematical background with emphasis on non-linear dynamical systems, I expanded and broadened my knowledge of brain science that inspired me to elaborate and finesse my research in this field. As a master student, I worked on computational modeling of visual attention and identification to earn a master from the University of Birmingham and then switched to the newly emerged topic of visual categorization and Basal Ganglia for PhD at TU Chemnitz. Besides, as a pianist and musician, I have some serious interests in music perception and few related fields.
