Lead multiple lines of psychophysical research to inform engineering specifications for Quest 2, Quest Pro, AR incubation (Project Nazare), and future AR/VR products. Plan, design, and conduct experiments to measure and predict capabilities, limits, and tolerances of the human visual system. Quantify the detectability and user impact of visual artifacts in AR and VR, including geometric distortion, IPD/IAD misalignment, optical aberrations, world-locked rendering errors, and vertical disparity. Work closely with cross-functional engineering partners to leverage perceptual results to set product requirements, evaluate mitigations, and inform system architecture trade-offs.
