I serve as Director of Resident Experience & Innovation at The Springs Living, where I help shape a simple but sacred question:What does it take for a person to feel fully alive as they age?Not merely safe. Not merely entertained. Not merely scheduled.Alive.The longer I work in senior living, the more convinced I become that older adults are not a population to be managed. They are a living library of courage, memory, humor, grief, wisdom, and unfinished becoming. Not the silver generation — black gold. And if we are paying attention, senior living can become one of the great refineries of human worth.My work is to help build cultures where engagement is not reduced to a calendar, dementia care is not reduced to memory loss, and innovation is not reduced to shiny tools. Real resident experience lives in the small, holy moments: a person greeted by name, a story invited back into the room, grief honored without rushing it away, a resident given a reason to contribute instead of merely receive.My path here has not been traditional. I have produced videos, built live events, taught scuba, led adventure travel, shaped brand stories, stood behind cameras, stood on stages, and helped people step into experiences they were not sure they could survive — or savor. All of that comes with me into aging services.I believe the future of senior living will belong to organizations brave enough to move beyond “activities” into identity. Beyond compliance into culture. Beyond hospitality as polish into hospitality as deep human recognition.I am especially drawn to the future unfolding in front of us — where AI may write, sort, summarize, and automate almost anything, which means human presence, lived wisdom, and real belonging will become more valuable, not less.Technology should give us more room to be human.Dementia care should protect the personhood that remains.Resident engagement should help people remember they still have something to offer.My life motto is LIVE DEEPER™ — born from scuba diving, grown into something much larger:Savor life.
