ABOUT KEVIN MILBURN
Since August 2017 I have been a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at London South Bank University. Before this, I was a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries at King\'s College London (20••••17) and a Human Geography Teaching Fellow at the University of Hull (20••••15). Prior to that, I was a Human Geography Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, a Research Associate at the Royal Geographical Society with Institute of British Geographers and a Module Convenor (Auditory Cultures) in the Department of Culture, Film and Media at the University of Nottingham, I undertook these roles after completing a popular music themed PhD in the Department of Geography at the University of Nottingham. Before my PhD, I worked full-time at the Mercury Music Prize for 11 years (19••••08), including as Director and the Company Secretary for the last nine of these. After starting my doctorate, in 2008, I continued to work for the Mercury Prize until 2014 as an advisor, a writer and as part of its four-person Executive Committee. The range of responsibilities that I was entrusted with at the Prize is detailed in the Experience section below.
