ABOUT KEVIN MEKULU
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University, developing AI-powered sensing technologies for the early detection of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Alzheimer’s Disease, and related dementias (ADRD), as well as depression. My research bridges clinical AI, biomedical complex systems modeling, natural language processing (NLP), voice and eye-tracking analytics, and multimodal physiological signal processing, integrating Generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI architectures for real-world, scalable screening. I am also the founder of DementiAnalytics, transforming speech, language, and sensor data into interpretable, clinically actionable insights. Our work has produced multiple state-of-the-art models, provisional patents, and high-impact publications spanning Journal of Alzheimer\'s Disease Reports and npj Digital Medicine (in review). Mission: Build innovative, accessible, interpretable, and clinically validated AI tools that reduce missed diagnoses, and improve quality of life worldwide.
