Strode Park Foundation is an independent voluntary organisation working to provide high quality services to meet the changing and individual needs of people with physical and/or learning disabilities. It is Kent\'s premier charity in this sector.My principle duties as an Independence Trainer are:1. To enable people to reach their full potential, by promoting their independence and physical, social and spiritual welfare.2. To encourage people in their independence and life skills through a structured programme of independence training.3. To enable people to gain confidence and self esteem and to be aware of their limitations.4. To take responsibility for direction of their own personal care.5. To train people in the skills that they require to live their lives independently and safely 6. To ensure that all the desires and needs of the people are considered in order to maximise their opportunities/possibilities7. To set up and run sessions providing appropriate support to individual learning plans so that people obtain maximum benefits from all social events and activities8. To support the people in maintaining their family and social network.9. To monitor each person\'s wellbeing and report any change in condition.
