About Kevin Kilgas

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Engineering Mechanics and have since gained five years of professional experience. Through my education and professional experience, I have gained the necessary skills to excel in a professional environment.I started my career at Collins Aerospace as an Engineering Project Assistant, and was quickly promoted to a Systems Engineering role. I moved to Sierra Nevada Corporation where I continued my career in the Systems Engineering field. I utilize robust Systems Engineering practices to evaluate customer needs, define and manage system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces. I also help identify and mitigate risks and manage cost, schedule, and technical scope for my assigned projects.My passions outside of engineering are what round me out as an individual. I was promoted to a leadership position at A Just Brew, a non-profit coffee shop dedicated to ending human slavery, where I acted as the President and VP of Finance and served as an Executive Board member. As a founding member I helped raise since 2014 to actively rescue victims of human trafficking. As a backpacking guide I led week-long backpacking trips with teenagers through Rocky Mountain National Park facilitating life lessons and mentoring teens in leadership, problem solving, outdoor education and technical skills. I have worked in the service industry throughout my time as a student to help develop my interpersonal communication and time-management skills.I am interested in testing, systems engineering, project development and people management.If you have any questions about my interests or would like to further inquire about my professional experiences, please do not hesitate to contact me.
