About Kevin Laird
As a Community Manager with a passion for web development and content strategy, I enjoy creating and maintaining online platforms that foster engagement, learning, and fun. I have been managing a Discord server for the Magic: The Gathering community of the Greater Seattle Area since 2018, growing it to over 130 members, hosting events, and designing its brand and mission.I am also a Master of Communication student at the University of Washington, specializing in Digital Media. I have been serving as a Student Ambassador for the program since September 2023, guiding prospective students, coordinating events, and building a strong network with the Communication Leadership community. I am honing my skills in UX research, web design, and artificial intelligence, applying them to various projects and assignments.Previously, I worked as a Cloud Support Engineer at Hostwinds, where I developed a full-stack application using Python and Django to manage the inventory of the company\'s datacenters, optimized over 1,200 predefined responses, and automated weekly reports using LiveChat API and Google Apps Script. I graduated cum laude from the University of Washington Bothell in Interactive Media Design in 2019, with a focus on UI/UX and game design. I also hold a Google IT Support Professional Certificate and several other credentials related to UX and AI.
