Responsible for all aspects of novel drug development including chemistry, screening, lead identification, technology platform, preclinical, clinical POC, portfolio development and culture. Multiple successful business and drug development alliances. Key Achievements: •Led cross-functional teams to discover, refine, and advance two liver-based siRNA delivery systems from invention to clinic. •Inventor/co-inventor on over 50 patents including three novel FDA approved RNAi therapeutic products, and a large pipeline of potential therapeutics undergoing clinical trials •Played key role in forming ~$2 billion in transformative alliance deals (Genzyme/Sanofi and Regeneron) •Lead teams that delivered 4 CTA filings in 24 months by identifying, vetting, and executing on pipeline goals targeting four different genetically validated diseases. All four compounds rapidly achieved positive Phase 1 results and 3/4 are now approved while the other continues in development. Several were awarded FDA breakthrough and/or Orphan Drug status.
