ABOUT KEVIN MARSHALL

I am passionate about trying to understand and make meaning of the world around us, helping people make more informed design decisions that can bring positive change to people\'s experience. Currently, I am Client Principal at dxw, working across delivery and business development to shape the work we do. Previously, I was Service Owner at Ministry of Justice Digital and Technology, leading a series of projects to improve aspects of prison life. I have also worked as a Design Researcher at FutureGov and Uscreates, agencies who focus on improving outcomes for people through work across Government (Central and Local) and the public sector. My role involved leading multiple concurrent projects, designing, planning, and conducting research (both generative and evaluative), deeply exploring people\'s lived experience, to help our clients better understand their challenge and identify meaningful opportunities to intervene through design.I have previously completed a PhD at Open Lab, Newcastle University in Human Computer Interaction to understand how play can be better supported between parents and their infant children through new technologies, taking a place-based approach in an area with high levels of language delay. I have also worked as a Research Assistant exploring the impact of disruptive technologies on wellbeing at work and in the home.
