About Kevin Yim

I never imagined I\'d become a church planter, covocational minister, or missional leadership coach. Growing up, I was a class clown and a privileged kid who never thought much about purpose, and this led to a lot of guilt and shame I didn’t know how to handle. Despite having everything, life felt empty; I couldn’t see myself working my whole life for something so unfulfilling. Then, in college, God intervened, sending people into my life to share the gospel—a concept I’d never heard, having never set foot in a church. Learning about God’s love and the forgiveness available to me felt too good to be true. But as I continued attending church and seeing the lives of my mentors, who made real sacrifices to live out God’s Word, I began to understand the reality and relevance of the gospel. These experiences and the transformation God brought to my life opened my eyes to a higher purpose. I felt compelled to share the gospel with others, convinced there were others like me waiting to hear it. If not for the structure, culture, and people of the church I joined, I might have become a lone Christian who burned out. Instead, I have a lifelong support system of brothers and sisters in Christ, with whom I’ve been able to plant churches on both the East and West Coasts. Today, I serve as a Covocational Campus Minister in NJ, grateful for the church’s support and the lifelong friends whom I get to do ministry with. Recognizing the need for more workers in the harvest field, I started Coach With Yim to help church leaders equip their congregations for ministry. My vision is to share the resources and wisdom I\'ve received to empower others. We all face barriers to living as ministers; as a Missional Leadership Coach, I work with pastors and and church leaders to help them identify and overcome the obstacles people in their church have to fully engage in the ministry God calls us to.
