ABOUT KEVIN GUICO

I serve because I believe where you’re from should not dictate where you go. All students deserve the opportunity to a quality education, regardless of their zip code, identity, or background. I believe that educational inequity is the biggest social justice issue of our time.I am an authentic and passionate connector with communication, public speaking, fundraising, and facilitation being my strongest skills. I hope to use those skills to make an impact on the systems level - aligning funding, advising districts, advocating for policies - as well as at the practitioner level - as a youth educator and coach, adult learning and fellowship designer, and hyperlocal champion and volunteer. All work I do is in service of a more just and equitable public education system.Starting as a humble teacher\'s aide to running for board of education, I have served in many education roles across my 11+ years of public education experience including teaching, organizing, learning and development, grant writing, consulting, technical assistance and more. Outside of schools I’ve worked political campaigns; co-founded community organizing and mutual aid movements; ran end-to-end fellowships; facilitated DEIB and AAPI specific spaces; designed online and in person learning experiences; and served as a board chair and fundraised for nonprofits that provide free arts and music education for all students.
