Algoma Township Supervisor | Community Leader | Experienced Public ServantAs the Supervisor of Algoma Township, I proudly serve over residents in the Rockford, Sparta, and Cedar Springs area. My journey in public service includes roles as the Michigan Republican House Whip, State Representative (77th District/Wyoming-Byron Center), Wyoming City Council-member and now currently as Algoma Township Supervisor.For the past three terms, I have been dedicated to addressing the ever changing needs of our growing community. During the PFAS water contamination crisis, I successfully lead our township by organizing numerous town hall gatherings and provided direct assistance to over 500 residents, ensuring their voices were heard and their safety restored. My team worked hand in hand with the amazing leaders of Plainfield Township to successfully negotiating a $70 million settlement with Wolverine Worldwide to provide clean drinking water to our residents!In addition to crisis management, we have focused on enhancing our community\'s public infrastructure by facilitating the improvement of over half of the township’s roads and instituting a Capital Improvement Plan for our sewer and water systems. I have lead our board and worked with neighboring communities to renegotiate municipal and vendor contracts to upgrade water infrastructure and our Camp Lake Sewer System. We have also made Public Safety a top priority in our region. Through public involvement we have now have dedicated source of funding to provide 24/7 full-time fire protection services, as well as road patrol and community policing. Lastly, the township board and I have prioritized fiscal responsibility by renegotiating our municipal contracts, resulting in significant savings for taxpayers, and providing better quality of life for I believe we get the best results through collaboration and community engagement and treasure each day to serve our residents.
