Providing strategic direction, leadership and planning to a respected national trade association, with accountability for corporate communications, events operations and translation services. Built and mentored a new communications team, creating processes, functions and core assets to support the industry’s reputational and public affairs aims. Routinely manage national and trade media requests, involving the coordination of responses on sensitive topics. Created and led the implementation of the association’s social media strategy which has contributed to follower growth of over 300%. Led the development and production of materials and web content to ensure clear and compelling communication of industry priorities. In this role, I oversee our events budget, as well as our communications infrastructure including the association’s website and online member centre. Led a complete review of conference operations in 2019 and the transformation of these events to an on-line conference platform in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
