Experience
Principal Developer
Nov 2018 — Present · Mountain View, CA, US
Principal Developer, Confluence Cloud - Part 2In many cases I researched difficult projects and problem areas of the code that had not yet been solved. When no prior engineers or functional specifications were available, I reverse engineered the functionality by tracing through the source code and making recommendations or bug fixes as appropriate.I wrote a prototype of a popup editor to solve the problem of managing nested content within Confluence pages. Handling nested, hierarchical content is a particularly thorny problem to solve in rich text editors, and thus demonstrating potential solutions to this problem was of benefit to the business and our customers.I was instrumental in introducing Atlassian to the SourceGraph code search engine and was actively involved in managing the trial process and writing the purchasing proposal. This has the potential to greatly enhance developer productivity within Atlassian.Technologies used: React, Redux, GraphQL, legacy JavaScript code using the internal AUI and AJS frameworks and jQuery, and TypeScript, Jest and other testing frameworks
