ABOUT KEVIN VELASCO
As a first-generation Hispanic, I am passionate in and committed to improving the socioeconomic capacities of low-income and marginalized communities across the United States through policy. I am capable of quantitative policy analysis, especially through the statistical software programs STATA and R; have experience in government affairs and legislative work; and am also a native Spanish speaker. I was awarded the Colorado Student Leader of the Year and the UCCS Ron Wisner awards in 2023. Through my leadership roles, I have fostered community for the Latino/a/x community in Colorado Springs, taught English to aspiring students, and promoted conversation on policies relevant to Latin-Americans in the United States.
