ABOUT KEVIN WRIGHT

I am fundamentally rooted in design, in art and architecture, in engineering, in problem solving, in family, in place. As such, a growth mindset is part of my genetic make up. I am an ardent evangelist of STEAM education. My goal is to improve the quality of life in the world around us-the farther the reach, the better.Building on this philosophy, I have played a major part in the design and construction of three Semiconductor Fabrication Facilities Lehi, Utah, at Micron Technology, IM Flash Technologies, and Texas Instruments, directing the civil, structural and architectural development of a site, while integrating the mechanical, electrical, process, and life safety functions that support the tools that turn 300mm silicon wafers into chips.At Texas Instruments, besides the new three-level Fab in Lehi, Utah, I supported the construction of the first two of four Fabs in Sherman, Texas, and a new five-level Assembly/Test factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I also nurtured a proactive seismic upgrade program for facilities acquired by TI throughout Asia. I am adept in the intricacies of hazardous occupancies. I led a team that amended the International Building Code to accept H-5 Occupancies in Mixed-Occupancy Unlimited Area Buildings.(See IBC Section 507.9) I also served as the AHJ liaison with the City of Lehi, Building and Fire.
