ABOUT KEVIN WEI
I am a social psychologist with 9 years of experiencing conducting both quantitative and qualitative research to understand how people behave and experience the world around them. In my current role, I serve as a Senior Program Analyst within the California State Bar\'s Mission Advancement and Accountability Division (MAAD). My team and I work together to compile, manage, and conduct statistical analysis on both operational and behavioral data that the State Bar collects. We use these insights to drive improvements in various programs, policies, and services that the State Bar implements to protect the public, discipline attorneys, and provide equitable access to legal services.In my graduate work, I studied how zero-sum thinking, and how various social contexts (in particular the workplace) drive people to see their environments and relationships with others as zero-sum. My dissertation investigated the psychological mechanisms behind zero-sum thinking as well as interventions for reducing zero-sum mindsets in competitive environments.
