ABOUT KEVIN SMITH
I have worked in the rail industry with Merseyrail Electrics from leaving school in 1991 where I completed British Railways electrical and mechanical apprenticeship. My career has developed over 25 years through roles such as; a Maintenance Technician carrying out safety critical planned and preventative maintenance, a Mobile Breakdown Technician reacting and repairing faults and failures on rolling stock, Technical Officer writing and reviewing technical documents, that adhered to railway Group Standards, carrying out investigations, fitting and testing modifications to rolling stock, Technical Trainer, using my vast experience and knowledge of railway standards, rules and rolling stock to train to a high standard railway workers from different departments and companies. I have achieved a Post Graduate Diploma (PGdip.) in Reliability Engineering and Asset Management (REAM) at The University of Manchester, School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE). I worked for Arriva TrainCare, Crewe as a Technical Inspector, working/project leading on various rolling stock such as; 15x\'s, 170, 319, Mk LHCS. I am currently employed by Metrolink as a Tram Systems Engineer.
