WORK HISTORY
Database Specialist @Sonoran Institute
Tucson, AZ, US
Work with the Santa Cruz River program team to support the Sonoran Institute Trash Study (SITS), a long-term project tracking debris trends and sources along the river corridor. Help improve the organization and usability of the existing database by simplifying data entry, adding quality assurance steps, and creating a queryable structure for easier analysis. Use Python, SQL, and ArcGIS Pro to identify spatial and temporal patterns in trash distribution and generate automated tables and figures for program reports. Contribute to making the dataset more accessible for researchers, community partners, and local decision-makers working toward a cleaner and more resilient Santa Cruz River.

ABOUT KEVIN DANNIEL ROBLES LOPEZ
Just keep knocking.” I’ve carried that with me as I\'ve learned and built my path. I’m an accelerated Master of Information Science student at the University of Arizona in the W. A. Franke Honors College. I’m also finishing my B.S. in Information Science: Data Science emphasis and a B.A. in Spanish. Before the University of Arizona, I started at Cochise College. That’s where I learned how to speak up for myself and for others through student leadership, and later served as President of Student Government. That experience shaped how I show up in classrooms, research spaces, and professional settings. I learned how to listen, ask better questions, and keep moving even when the answer is not “yes” yet. Now I spend a lot of my time on research and project work in sustainable agriculture, psycholinguistics, and environmental policy. I use Python, R, SQL, and GIS to clean and organize data, build workflows, and turn results into takeaways for research teams and community partners. I care about work that has a point, work that helps people make better decisions, and work that respects the communities behind the data.
