ABOUT KEVIN R BRINE

Kevin R. Brine is an author, investor and artist. His most recent work, Finance in America: An Unfinished Story, co-authored with Mary Poovey,published by University Chicago Press in 2018. Finance is an America offers a 100- year history of finance in America which culminates in the radically unexpected global financial crisis in 2008.Mr. Brine is the managing director of Artemis IV, LLC, a private venture capital fund established to invest in sustainable agriculture and clean technology in 2003. Mr. Brine has a life-long commitment to active leadership and service in support of institutions of higher education, healthcare, arts and science. This pursuit has included the co-founding of a vital pediatrics AIDs clinic foundation at New York Hospital, funding the Brine Commons at the New York University’s Elmer Bobst Library and Study Center, co-founding the Re-Enlightenment Project at New York University and serving as the chairman of the campaign for Weill Cornell Medical College Ambulatory and Medical Education Building which opened in 2004. He has served as an overseer of the Weill Cornell Medical College and as a trustee of numerous non-profit boards including New York University, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Spence, Laguna Blanca, and Cate Schools, and the White Buffalo Land Trust. Mr. Brine and his wife, the painter, Jessica E. Smith are the proprietors of Pepper Oaks Farm Polo LLC.at Pepper Oaks Farm in Santa Ynez, California
